Gettysburg Train Station

I’d like to share one more image from our Gettysburg trip. This is the Gettysburg Train Station, which was traveled by Abraham Lincoln when he came into town for the Gettysburg Address. Another interesting story from the first day of the Battle of Gettysburg is that the young, female telegraph operator removed the machine from the station and carried it to Cemetery Hill where she gave it to Union soldiers. After instructing them how to connect and use it, the soldiers used it for communicating between units. This could have been an advantage for the Union army.
