The Cherry Tree

When I moved into this house, a beautiful cherry tree was blooming in the yard.  There were thousands of tiny pink flowers covering its willowy branches.  It wasn’t the best time in my life, but I considered it a fresh start.  A large section of the tree was dead, and a landscaper had told me […]

Gettysburg Trip

Thankfully the snow has finally melted.  We’ve returned for more peanut butter pie and pictures of monuments.  The weather is crisp, and it’s a bit too cloudy, but you have to work with what you’ve got.  Here’s a new image.  I like the way the trees look chaotic behind this monument.

Longwood After Hours

These images are from a class I took at Longwood Gardens.  I drove there after teaching all day every Thursday for 4 weeks.  The photographers in the class were allowed access to different areas each week.  It was a rare opportunity to photograph without crowds of people.  I actually got to roam around the children’s […]

Artsquest Invision 2013

Selfie

I needed some photos of myself to update my website, and decided to shoot them myself.  Well, that is no simple task.  Jerry helped me out, and I really needed him.  There was a lot of running back and forth to the camera on the tripod, and he had to make sure I got back […]

Sunflower

I love the way you can see the structure of the flower and the leaves in this infrared image.  Sunflowers have been thought of as symbols of courage by Native Americans.  Many Impressionists were inspired by the sunflower.  Today, it is often used to represent warmth, loyalty, and longevity.  These flowers definitely make me smile. […]
