Film Noir

Dan’s Camera City teams with 2 Australian fellows (Shelton Muller and Glynn Lavender) to present a series of Creative Photo Workshops. These hands-on workshops are very practical. You come away from them with many creative ideas and the knowledge to carry them out. I’ve enjoyed several Creative Photo Workshops over the last year. This time, I took the Pose and Compose, and the Film Noir Workshops. Pose and Compose teaches you how to create dynamic compositions that are complimentary to the subject. After class, you go on location to shoot with a model. I was excited to be able to photograph Kaitlin again. In the evening, we went to an empty warehouse for Film Noir. This workshop mimics the look of the vintage films of the 40’s. I did this workshop once before, but it was with completely different models at another location. This time, we photographed Tamantha, Jed, and Jeremy with a vintage automobile and a gun. These shots are set up by the CPW team along with the crew from Dan’s. They worked hard and created some fabulous scenes for us to photograph. I love the Film Noir genre, and would do this workshop again in a heartbeat.
