Honor Your Roots

I’m sad to say that my kind and gentle mother-in-law passed away recently after a battle with cancer and dementia.  She was predeceased by my father-in-law.  She left behind my husband and his 10 siblings.  They grew up in Allentown in a home on Hamilton Street.  They are a close family, and have strong ties to their home.  Knowing that their family home was going to be sold, Jerry and I decided to find a way to immortalize aspects of the home by creating a collage of the letters in their name – Driscoll.  We spent several hours going through the house, looking for iconic items we could use to form the letters.  Among them we have: images from their dining room, their pool table, the old telephone in the hall, the entry door, and the mantle clock that shows the time his mother passed away.  We created this collage and shared it with the entire family.  It hangs in our foyer in a place of honor.
