Monocacy Park

Anyone who lives in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania knows Monocacy Park. Today I decided to try to capture some images of the flock of mallard ducks that are beginning to nest near the Monocacy Creek. There were a lot of people there feeding the ducks. Watching the children tentatively throwing a handful of bread, and then laughing as the ducks scrambled for their snack made me wonder where all the years had gone. I did this as a child with my parents, and I shared the same memories with my own daughter. I was always fascinated with the feathers of birds. Each species has unique colors and textures to their feathers. I really wanted to capture these aspects in my photograph. In this image of the male mallard, you can almost feel the texture of his feathers. The colors are so bright and brilliant. I hope you like it as much as I do!
