This was quite an exciting day. I photographed my first wedding, and Hurricane Irene blew into town right in the middle of it! I was nervous about the wedding, and Jerry was going to come with me as my assistant. When the hurricane was forecast to hit during the wedding, I didn’t want to leave Elysia home alone so Jerry stayed home to take care of things there. I was on my own. The funny thing about the hurricane was that once I realized that it was coming, I wasn’t too nervous about photographing the wedding anymore. It was a real honor photographing Cathy and Jim Kutz’s wedding. Cathy handled the hurricane situation with such grace. She never really worried about it, so I didn’t either. It was a beautiful day, and I got many great photos even though we couldn’t have any outdoor shots like we planned. The antique fire engine was such a great backdrop. The photos looked wonderful. I wish Cathy & Jim many years of happiness, and I thank them for trusting me to photograph their wedding!
