After a visit to West Chester University, Elysia and I headed off for a mini vacation to Longwood Gardens. She never visited Longwood, and we thought it would be nice to go since we were so close. The fall weather was much more comfortable than the 100 degree summer weather I experienced last time I was there. We spent the entire day exploring the gardens and photographing what we saw. Once again, I was fascinated with the water lily pond. Water lilies come in all shapes, colors, and sizes, but I thought this white specimen really showed the structure of the flower and its leaves. I love taking special trips with my daughter.
